Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.
Director: Genndy Tartakovsky
Stars: Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James
The Buzz: Audiences visited Hotel Transylvania the first time because the oddball setting still had a relatable premise: a father's concerns for his teenage daughter and her first big crush. Match this with fan favorite animator Genndy Tartakovsky's vision and direction, and you have a worldwide hit and new franchise. The second chapter seems a bit convoluted, as sequels can be, and the humor seems to be a bit more cutting. We also noted that Adam Sandler has a screenwriting credit this time around, which was not the case with the original, so our fangs are bared a bit. With Mel Brooks joining the cast as Vlad, the uber vampire patriarch, we're getting a sinkingfeeling that HT2 could be the animated equivalent of Meet the Fockers.
